The Association for the Study of Nationalities (ASN) is the only scholarly association devoted to the study of ethnicity and nationalism from Europe to Eurasia. With hundreds of members in more than fifty countries, ASN brings together scholars, doctoral candidates, policy analysts and NGO practitioners, interested in the Balkans, Central Europe, Russia, Ukraine, the Caucasus, Eurasia (including Turkey and China), and nationalism studies. Its annual convention, periodic European conferences, and flagships publications Nationalities Papers and Ethnopolitics provide unique resources for understanding the history and contemporary issues in these lands. ASN membership is international, with a sizeable and growing representation from outside North America.
